The message that meditation is “good” for us is a common one to see and hear these days, but so many of the “whys” and “hows” can be more challenging to come by! Join Kali Shilvock and ritual house on Wednesday, May 20, via zoom, to learn (or to re-learn!) The 101 of pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation (mindfulness practice).

The practice of meditation is a powerful one; it can support reduced stress and anxiety, improve mental clarity and ability to focus, and enhance the degree to which we feel content and engaged in our present moment.

In the 90-minute gathering, kali will will break down what meditation is and how to practice it simply but impactfully. This workshop is designed to be simple and straightforward and draws from both ancient eastern teachings + modern psychology & neuroscience. she will begin and end the session guiding you through a short pranayama and meditation practice. Between those short practices, kali will be discussing meditation, teaching (and you, practicing) different pranayama (breathing) techniques, and will share what a personal practice can look like when you don’t have a teacher leading.

This workshop is open to students of all levels of experience and familiarity with meditation; whether you have prior knowledge of meditation traditions or none at all, this workshop is designed to be simple and straightforward. If you have a mind, and a body, and want them to cohabitate with more ease, this is a great place to start.

Please join us for a wonderful evening of brain-soothing practice and a practical toolkit that you can take with you to build your own mindfulness practice.
