Life is a good teacher and a good friend. Things are always in transitions, if we could only realize it…..the off-center, in-between state is an ideal situation, a situation in which we don’t get caught and we can open our hearts and minds beyond limit.” –Pema Chodron, “When Things Fall Apart”

The uncertainty of life is always present. We never truly know what may unfold from one moment to the next. These days, however, this uncertainty is tangible. Visceral. Inescapable, even as we retreat into the comfort and familiarity of our own homes.

Pema Chodron, an American Buddhist nun, resident teacher at Gampo Abbey in Nova Scotia, and author of several books, invites us to become intimate with all moments–even the painful, uncomfortable ones–and in doing so open our hearts and minds into spaciousness, ease, and joy. The path is not complicated, but also not always a walk in the park.
