This workshop focuses on creating relief for low back pain sufferers. We begin with mindful breathing and settling into the practice. From there, we’ll follow a therapeutic flow of slow, gentle movements that invite circulation and strength-building – particularly in the low back, hips and tailbone. The class style is a fusion of hatha, slow vinyasa flow and even a sprinkling of yin yoga in places.

The therapeutic approach specifically invites participants to tune inside, to notice the way the practice really feels inside the body. This is how we know what is working and feeling safe and when to back off.

You will develop a set of therapeutic skills to take with you to every other yoga practice. Including multiple options for common poses and ideas for personalized ranges of motions for all levels of practice.

About the instructor: Lori Rock

Lori Rock

Lori is passionate about breath awareness and the power of becoming fully aware of this presence – on the mat and off. Chronic pain invited her to yoga in the 90’s. A sense of peace and balance has kept her coming back, inspiring her to become a teacher in 2006. Since then, she has taught hundreds of students including: at-risk youth, busy professionals and people who’ve celebrated many, many birthdays. All with a gentle reminder to let the breath lead. When she is not on the mat, she can be found running BigIdeaZoo.com – her visual communications company. Lori is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT – 200). She shares her passion for yoga with people from 4 to 104 in multiple styles including gentle vinyasa yoga, slow-flow, yin yoga and yoga nidra (deep breathing and guided meditation).”
