Are you interested in learning more about natural health and wellness, self-care, yoga, and Ayurveda? If so, then please join Melina Meza, Chiara Guerrieri and Baxter Bell, MD, for the Winter Seasonal Health and Wellness Workshop. Together we’ll explore practices that span a range of focuses— some yoga or exercise-based, dietary, pranayama, meditation, and others geared toward self-study and reflection as we move into the winter season.

In this workshop, you will learn more about nutrition for the seasons, Ayurveda for modern times, and will leave with more yoga tools for stress management and grounding.

About the instructors: Baxter Bell, Melina Meza, and Chiara Guerrieri

Baxter Bell

Baxter Bell, MD, E-RYT 500, has been actively deepening his understanding of yoga and relaxation since making the stress-reducing move from a career as a busy family doctor to that of a yoga teacher and medical acupuncturist. He is a graduate of the Piedmont Yoga Studio’s 18-month Advanced Studies Program, and has since become Director of PYS’s Deep Yoga Program, teaching the Experiential Anatomy, Yoga Technique, and Yoga Methodology portions of the training.

Baxter has studied extensively with Rodney Yee, Patricia Walden, and Erich Schiffmann, and has recently been influenced strongly by the work of TKV Desikachar and Donald Moyer. He is involved in the integration of therapeutic applications of yoga with Western medicine, lecturing to health care professionals around the country, as well as adding Hatha yoga asanas and pranayama to his care of patients in his medical acupuncture practice.

 

Melina Meza

Melina Meza is a pioneer in the field of yoga, nutrition, and Ayurvedic Health, sharing her knowledge with yogis around the world for more than 20 years. Melina was the first teacher hired at 8 Limbs in 1996 and was co-director or director of 8 Limbs Yoga Centers for 16 years. She is the creator of Seasonal Vinyasa Yoga, a holistic practice that features lifestyle, diet, and yoga practices tailored to the rhythms of the four seasons to help people stay healthy as they age. Her passion for Nature, the five elements, beauty, and humor forge the foundation of her unique approach to well-being. Melina has self-published the book Seasonal Health and Wellness and a three-book series called The Art of Sequencing, is featured on popular video channels (YogaAnytime, YogaUOnline, and Gaia), co-leads Yoga for Healthy Aging trainings, and previously ran successful yoga retreats before the Covid pandemic.

 

 

Chiara Guerrieri Yoga Teacher Seattle

What to expect in ­­­Chiara’s Classes: Chiara teaches us how to connect with the body through the breath, how to track physical sensation moment to moment and how to find an internal sense that guides movement and choices for wellbeing. In both her SoulMat & Hatha yoga classes, expect to go slowly, to pay attention to your body and breath, and to explore alignment. An important aspect of Chiara’s teaching is to help students learn when – and from where – to stabilize or mobilize. Expect the wisdom of a 30-year teaching career, plus a good dose of humor, to infuse each class.
