Hi Friends,
This book club is set up with the intention to learn more about race, systemic racism, and white supremacy in our everyday lives. And with the knowledge gained, examine our own lives, beliefs, and ways in which we benefit and contribute to a system that disproportionately harms black and brown bodies.

Any and everyone who wants to participate in this work is welcome to read and listen and engage. No matter where you are on this journey, you are welcome here.

Click on this link to register. Zoom will send you the meeting information and reminders. https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEvduqqpz4uHdRiSe6geUzD0_3dsLf2i4qo?fbclid=IwAR3j4Abhs1DqXpoU8rzMatznVzQlEBMUFgonnxuslFujI7fzKr2zy9bBUH0

We are starting with the book “So You Want To Talk About Race,” by Ijeoma Oluo.

Folks are encouraged to join the Yoga & Movement facebook group to engage and share thoughts as you are reading. There are also links there to black owned book stores you can support through reading.

Our book discussion will be followed by a restorative yin yoga class. This is a restful practice that slows us down.

Date & Time: June 25th, 2020 @6pm-8:30pm

Cost is a recommended $5, but truly pay what you can.

All of the money raised from the yoga class will be donated to a local group who is actively doing the work. I am looking into Black Lives Matter – Seattle and SURJ of Kitsap County. If you have any other suggestions for organizations, please let me know. With full transparency, we will let you know where the money goes once that decision has been made.

Send money via Venmo to KatieRainsYoga. If you prefer PayPal, send me a message and I’ll get you that info.
