Bi-Monthly Event with Nicole Bratt

In this bi-monthly series, we will focus on a particular facet of being human. During each session, led by Nicole Bratt, you’ll have three spacious hours to delve into a specific theme via the support of yoga practice – a rich tapestry woven from the eight limbs.

Schedule:
Grief – June 6, 2021
Anxiety – August 15, 2021
Fatigue – October 24, 2021
Stress – December 12, 2021
Depression – February 13, 2022
Chronic Pain – April 10, 2022

Time: 1pm – 4pm

We will contemplate what is showing up in our lives related to the theme; bearing honest, compassionate witness as embodied presence. Each experiential practice will include self-reflection, mindful movements, breath and sensation awareness, time for meditation, stillness, and deep rest – all with the goal of finding deeper peace, integration, and an expanded sense of our inherent wholeness. It is from this place that we can access our most empowered selves in life and in community.

Participants can expect the following event format:
A brief introduction
Gentle asana (movement)
Meditation
Pranayama (breathwork)
Restorative yoga
Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep)
Dedicated time for journaling, drawing, or other personal reflection/expression

Sessions will not include group discussion or breakout rooms. Participants will have the option to turn their camera off. After each session, participants will receive a follow-up email with potentially relevant resources to explore on their own time.

All are welcome to this practice; no prior yoga experience is necessary.

Important notes:
1. All 2021 dates will be live streamed online (only) via Zoom, even if Seattle Yoga Arts re-opens its physical space.

About the instructor: Nicole Bratt

Nicole Bratt

Nicole, a Midwest native, is committed to holding space for students so that they may benefit from this elegant practice we know as yoga. She is deeply honored to be doing just that as the Studio Manager at Seattle Yoga Arts. Her life passion is cultivating vibrant and inclusive community wellness, and she is excited to bring her diverse background as a graphic designer, yoga teacher, event planner, photographer, volunteer coordinator, and small business owner to SYA.

As a group fitness instructor, Nicole explored yoga briefly in her 20s, but initially there was little resonance. When yoga crossed her path again in her 30s, she discovered she was ready to fully embrace its life-changing gifts. Her path led to completing both 200-hr and 500-hr teacher trainings at Yoga Tree San Francisco, and she now specializes in Restorative, gentle, therapeutic, and prenatal modalities. She is passionate about the power of stillness as a transformational experience, as well as an antidote to urban living. After 12+ years living, working, and studying in San Francisco, Nicole transplanted to our lush, beautiful Seattle. When she’s not at the studio, you are likely to find Nicole outdoors, listening to live music, creating art, making/eating delicious food, adventuring near and far, or taking a nap.
