Are you curious about Mat Pilates but not sure if it’s for you?
Do you want to build core strength but aren’t sure where to begin?
Are you craving some variety in your yoga practice?
Join Lara Ederer for a 75-minute Pilates-focused practice that will help demystify this fun, yet sometimes intimidating, style of movement.
Lara will discuss the key mat Pilates principles such as the primary objectives, breath techniques, pelvic stability, and more. In this workshop, you will explore core-focused movements, mindful breath awareness, muscle lengthening, and glute-burning fun; setting you up for a strong foundation to add Pilates to your movement regimen.

This workshop is all levels. All you need to bring is your wonderful self and a beginner’s mindset. Lara approaches this workshop with a sense of playfulness. Expect to sweat & laugh along the way.

Lara will detail plenty of modifications so that beginners, those that need more support, and those dealing with injury recovery can participate and enjoy themselves.

Join us and learn how Pilates can be a great companion to your regular yoga practice (and can even improve it)! Check out a few testimonials from Lara’s Pilates students:

“Muscle loss is a challenge I face as a 60+ female. I love the Pilates Yoga Fusion class taught by Lara. It is a great complement to the regular yoga classes I attend at Yogabliss because it helps me maintain and build muscle strength to prepare my body for the adventures I plan to take in the years to come.”

“I am thrilled to have discovered this wonderful class that beautifully fuses Yoga and Pilates. At first, I was a bit intimidated to try it, but Lara gives LOTS of modification options with all the poses, so I can work at my own pace and level. At the end of class, I felt I received a whole-body workout that focused on muscular and postural strength and incorporated lots of stretching, lengthening and breath work. This class definitely complements my yoga practice AND it is nice to add some variety!”

About the instructors: Lara Ederer

Lara EdererLara was introduced to yoga in 2002 by a newly certified friend who needed practice students. Over the next several years she ventured in and out of the practice as well as different styles until she found her “home” in Vinyasa and Ashtanga traditions. In 2012 she completed her 200 Hour with Be Luminous with a primary focus in Power Vinyasa. Her teaching style is playful and sprinkled with humor yet it is evident that she is influenced by deep rooted traditions such as chanting, Pranayama, and Sanskrit. Her greatest influences are Tiffany Cruickshank, Amy Ippoliti, Sri Dharma Mittra, and Troy Lucero. Lara is also a co-founder of Yogalab Northwest, a grass roots collaboration that hosts world class teachers in the Seattle area as a way to celebrate the strong local yoga community. She has had the privilege of hosting and learning from Mittra, Ippoliti, Cruickshank, Kino Macgregor, Jason Crandell, and has several more scheduled events on the horizon. Lara is currently enrolled in her 500 hour training with Tiffany Cruickshank; when she’s off the mat she enjoys time with her husband Mark and son Liam.
