Open to all students, not just teachers. – a 300 hour Teacher Training Module

This module is designed for teachers who have already completed a 200-Hr yoga teacher training, and wish to accumulate 300-Hr credits toward their 500-Hr certification. Or for the curious practitioner who simply wishes to deepen his or her knowledge of yoga.

Body and mind are held together by the breath. The breath we normally experience and are aware of is just a physical manifestation, an outward expression of a much deeper force called prana. There is a difference between breathing (breath), and that which makes us breathe (prana). Prana or life-force is what propels our breath. Our state of mind and our physical health are closely related to the quality of prana within our body.

In this module we will learn how to breathe fully and deeply for optimal health. We will discover how to:

A) Use breathing techniques to:
1. purify and balance body, senses, and mind;
2. soothe the nervous system and manage stress;
3. boost the immune system, promoting good health and longevity.

B) Influence the flow of prana through the flow of our breath by:
1. capturing, collecting and containing prana;
2. making it more concentrated and compressed;
3. taking it to the places in our body where we want to see transformation, self-rejuvenation, and healing.

C) Weave A) and B) into an asana practice, or as a stand-alone pranayama practice leading to meditation.
