Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training with Jaime Waliczek in Capitol Hill - Seattle Yoga Arts

Have you ever had a pregnant or postnatal student in class and wondered how to keep them safe? As a yoga teacher, you will have these students and they will expect you to be able to give them modifications. If you are ready to gain the knowledge and confidence to teach these students, this workshop is for you.

During and after pregnancy, women go through major shifts both anatomically and physiologically. Yoga can be highly beneficial for these women—when taught and practiced correctly. Learn how to keep these students safe and healthy at all stages of their pregnancy as well as after giving birth.

We will explore:
The anatomy and physiology of the pre- and postnatal body
Poses to support these students, which poses to modify and how
How to help students prepare for labor physically and mentally
Tools to share for moms with newborns and how to help them recover from birth
How to use inclusive language to make these students feel welcome

You will have the chance to ask questions, move with a sample pregnant belly, practice manual assists, and sequence a prenatal class. This workshop will include discussion, lecture, physical practice, and group work.
