Learn about restorative yoga!

According to Merriam Webster, the definition of the word restore is:

1. to give back, return

2. to but or bring back into existence or use

3. to bring back or out back into a former a former or original state

4. to put again in possession of something.

Aptly named, restorative yoga is a practice that does these things; it brings us back into our original state of ease, connection and wholeness.

Modern life can take us away from this original state, away from ourselves and can create tension in our bodies, nervous systems, minds and spirits. Restorative yoga has a unique ability to help us unwind these patterns of tension, help facilitate release in the nervous system, allow for emotional integration and facilitate healing on every level of our being.

This workshop and extended practice will begin with an exploration into what makes restorative yoga restorative from the perspective of the philosophy and science of restorative yoga.  After we learn a little about what makes it restorative. Megan will lead us through an extended restorative yoga practice.

Please note we are also offering a longer, in-depth restorative training this same weekend that is open to dedicated yoga students wishing to explore this rich practice and also open to yoga teachers, movement teachers and body-workers wishing to explore a deep-dive into this nourishing practice. Please see our “In-Depth and 300-Hour Trainings” tab for more information and to register for the longer, in-depth training.
