[Live Streamed] The Hearth of the Heart_ Tending the Sacred Fire of Meditation, Together - Seattle Yoga Arts

4-Week Online Series with Special Guest Lara Sanderson

This introduction to meditation series is open to everyone. Whether you are brand new or seeking to connect through subtle practice, you are welcome here.

The class group will meet one evening a week for four weeks. During each gathering, we will meditate with two different prompts. Suggested personal explorations will be provided for the days between sessions.

Week 1: Taking the Seat
Week 2: Igniting the Fire
Week 3: Tending the Flames
Week 4: Sharing the Light

Our month together will explore seated posture – asana – through several pathways for connecting to the Sacred Self. Meditating at this time in our world with a group of dedicated practitioners strengthens our ability to make progress on our interior journey.

“The heart is the hub of all sacred places. Go there and roam.” –Bhagavan Nityananda

A series allows your teacher to teach progressively and to tailor the class, theme or goal as they get to know each individual over time. Staying with one group for several weeks also builds commitment, community, and understanding for both the student and the teacher. Research shows that we learn better, feel discomfort less, and are more optimistic when we feel included in community. Our series classes build that kind of inclusion.

Please plan carefully: Refunds of 90% are granted up to 5 days prior to the series start; after which, no refunds are given.

About the instructor: Lara Sanderson

Lara-SandersonI began studying yoga over 25 years ago after training to dance professionally. My first Hatha class was with Jo Leffingwell, where I landed intimately within the very alive, miraculous interior landscape of my body. Since then, I’ve been inspired by many advanced female practitioners, including Denise Benitez and other teachers and students in the Seattle Yoga Arts community.

In 2011, I began to study meditation full-time, inspired by Sally Kempton, a former Vedic Swami from my father Marty’s yogic lineage. I am an avid explorer of habits that facilitate deeper meditative awareness and support the physical body in partnering with its awakened energy. My personal sadhana draws from Iyengar, Anusara, Siddha Yoga, dance, Reiki, and qi gong. I love gardening, cooking, writing, art and animals, and am a certified level III Reiki practitioner.

It is a joy to share in service with others discovering and following their own unique spiritual path. My wish for the world is that everyone develops the inherent power that resides within. When individuals master peace, so too, will our communities.
