Sound Bath Meditation with Lynette Kozuma at Indigo Moon Yoga

Dive into deeper states of consciousness in this special restorative yoga a class with sound bath meditation.

Sound has been utilized in various cultures for thousands of years as a tool for achieving deeper meditative states. Sound helps to facilitate shifts in our brainwave state by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our fluctuating brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwave can attune to. By using rhythm and frequency, we can entrain our brainwaves and it then becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to an alpha state (relaxed consciousness), and potentially even reach the theta state (meditative state) and/or the delta state (sleep) where internal changes can occur.

Simply put, sound meditation slows down your brain waves, which affect every cell in your body, moving us from a place of imbalance to a place of balance.

Schedule:

  • September 20, October 15, November 15, December 20, January 24, February 14, and March 20.
  • From 6:30 – 8:00 pm

Cost: $20, Unlimited Members Discounted.

About the instructor: Lynette Kozuma

Lynette Kozuma
Lynette came to yoga after being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia at the age of 32. Searching for more natural ways to heal her body from debilitating pain, a friend suggested she try yoga – and she was instantly hooked. Lynette loved the way the physical practice of yoga could be adapted to suit her individual body’s needs, which, over time, helped her regain mobility and relief from pain. Eager to learn more, she began what is now a 20+ year journey into the study and practice of yoga asana, yoga philosophy, pranayama, meditation and Yoga Nidra. Many classes, workshops, trainings and retreats later, Lynette knew it was her dharma to share the gift of yoga with others. In 2015 she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training program with Colleen Hieber, Melissa Christensen and Aileen Pham at Spectra Yoga. She completed her 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training in June 2018 with Courtney Parkyn, Megan Bello, Liz Heffernan & Alison Scola through Soma Yoga Institute and Better Living Yoga.

Lynette believes that yoga is accessible to everyone, regardless of age, fitness level, injuries, or conditions. Recognizing that no two bodies are the same, she takes an adaptive approach to teaching, creating space for students to discover and embrace their uniqueness and approach their yoga practice in an authentic way that supports their individual needs. Her intention is to compassionately meet each student where they are and support them on their individual journey to a deeper connection with body, breath and spirit so they may fully experience the many beautiful healing benefits of yoga. Lynette holds RYT 500 from Yoga Alliance.
