Summer is a time of high activity and full days, especially here in the Pacific Northwest. And it remains important to find pause and quiet amid the action of the season. To tap into a deeper understanding of ourselves – our true potential or calling – it is important to be still and find harmony within. Our yoga practice can support us in this endeavor. It is commonly said that it’s easier to act your way into better thinking, than to think your way into better action. Likewise, it is easier to discover your authentic nature through stillness than activity; through going within, rather than busily seeking external validation. This is because the mind gets caught up in action and motion and loses the capacity to understand on a deeper, more embodied level.
Your true, unique purpose in life can be found in stillness.
The process of slowing down, can be challenging and can often feel uncomfortable. This workshop will support you in the process of becoming still, balanced, and neutral, so that You can shine through! The workshop is structured to allow ample time in postures that are designed to relax the body and quiet the brain.
You will enjoy a gentle series of Kundalini Yoga warm-up exercises that will settle you into your body, followed by a cooling and balancing pranayama (breathing) practice. Fully prepared, we will then spend time in a series of restorative yoga poses, supported by the gong. The workshop will also include mantra meditation, time for journaling and reflection, and an extended gong savasana. In addition, Kathleen will offer hands on Reiki as you relax into the restorative yoga poses.
The sound of the gong emulates the sound of creation. It helps quiet the mind, so we can truly relax and is a beautiful compliment for a restorative yoga practice.
