[Live Streamed] Strengthen Your Systems: Sustainable Movement & Myofascial Release with Elena Cheung
Oct 10, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
| $25Event Navigation

In this 90 minute exploratory workshop we will self-massage the body utilizing myofascial release (MFR) techniques paired with active stretching and yoga postures.
MFR helps us feel more in-tune with our bodies. MFR techniques hydrates our fascia (connective tissue) and unravels holding patterns in our bodies to restore a healthy range of motion and to help alleviate physical tension. This is a wonderful practice to incorporate into your self-care routines.
This workshop also considers the quality and state of our nervous system and mind. During these unprecedented & stress filled times it can be invaluable to make time and find practices that soothe the physical body, nervous system, and the mind. The mindfulness component of sustainable MFR will calm your nervous system and integrate body and mind to leave you feeling grounded, connected, and embodied.
This workshop is for everyone, regardless of previous exposure to yoga or MFR. This experience was created for anyone noticing an uptick in physical & mental tension.
You will need a pair of Myofascial Release balls, a yoga block, and blanket. Yogabliss has MFR balls in stock. Please reach out to manager@yogabliss.org to purchase.

About the instructor: Elena Cheung
I completed my undergraduate studies with a double degree in Biology and Psychology, two fields that satisfied my scientific curiosity and drive to learn. Shortly after came yoga teacher training. I knew from day one that teaching would be inevitable: the desire to serve others is a cornerstone of my personality. My interest now lies in the fields of movement, anatomy, and mindfulness.
I strive to integrate healthy alignment and anatomical knowledge in my teaching to help provide a strong basis for students to take flight on their own. My goal in my teaching is to give you the tools to become your own greatest teacher – thyoge tools of mindful awareness, knowledge of your own body, and the acceptance and integration of your ego. I determine the needs of the students before me and am able to speak to each and every body, keeping in mind the uniqueness of every person on their mat.
My name is Elena Cheung, and I am a rock climber, yoga teacher, movement lover, and a big video game nerd. I’m based out of Seattle, WA.
