Yoga offers techniques for self-awareness, and thus connects us to inner peace. It helps us deal with life situations from a position of calm and strength. Yoga can be an important sanctuary for tweens and teens, a place to develop self-confidence as well as focus while having fun! This series will engage youth aged 10-14 through asana practice, meditation, and breath practices.

Schedule:

  • Sundays, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm
  • September 16 – November 4
  • November 11 – January 20 (no class 11/25, Thanksgiving Break, and 12/23 & 12/30, Winter Break)
  • January 27 – March 24 (no class 2/17, Mid-Winter Break)
  • March 31 – June 23, (no class 4/7, Spring Break, 4/21, Easter; 5/12, Mother’s Day; 5/26, Memorial Day Weekend; June 16, Father’s Day)

Cost: $140 for eight-week series; $98 for second child.

Note: Our series require a minimum of five registered participants, by five days before the start date; if you are considering joining please register early.

About the Teacher: Jen Olson

What to expect in Jen’s classes: Jen is an enthusiastic and innovative kids yoga teacher. She bears witness to the many benefits yoga brings especially to kids: building community, making connections, strengthening family bonds, increasing self confidence, laughter, exploration of the body, and harnessing inner peace. With a background in education, anthropology, nutrition and Ayurveda, Jen adds richness along with playfulness to the kids’ yoga classes she teaches. Jen teaches kids from 2 to 18 years old. She also volunteer teaches for Yoga Behind Bars. Outside of teaching and practicing yoga, Jen spends her time as a personal assistant, creating amazing essential oil blends for her new business, Pulse Remedies. She also travels, and seeks refuge in nature and sacred lands throughout the world.

Main Influences/Styles/Traditions: Next Generation Yoga: 2-7 and 8-13 year old teacher trainings.
