Yoga for Inner Healing

Through this practice-based seminar we will infuse the teachings of yoga that allow our greatest self to emerge. The Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita foundational yogic texts from India that clearly guide us to our best self. They do not specifically say what poses to do, but rather are very specific in how to do them. These scriptures also hone in on why and how to capture the gift of prana and the enormous resource it is for our daily living. Each of these texts focuses on the rewards of a clear and well-structured meditation practice, allowing us to meet our full potential in this life. The Yoga Sutras give the goal of yoga as discovering our own fulfillment, joy and freedom, while living in this body, in this world.

In this workshop we will systematically practice asana, pranayama and meditation that guides us further into our own vital, strong, sacred self so that when we emerge we have the tools and means to live more fully, have greater faith in our ability to heal ourselves, and love the world more deeply.

The Chakras: Beauty Unbound

The energy that supports you, that empowers your passion, that informs your truth, and that gives you your voice in the world comes from deep within in streams that converge in vortexes at your chakras. These nadis (waves, rivers) are the underlying scaffolding that your body forms around. When the flow is healthy and strong, your life reflects this graceful foundation. And where these streams converge at 7 points throughout the body, there is an opportunity for increased awareness of and access to your most sacred self.

Unfortunately these rivers often become dammed, polluted or dissipated, due to different circumstances, attitudes and habits that we have adopted towards ourselves and perhaps even life itself. With compassionate awareness we can begin to clear and strengthen these internal rivers, giving ourselves more support, greater understanding our of internal and external life, and increasing our ability to be compassionate, kind, resilient and courageous.

The three main chakras are the manipura, anahata and ajna. They govern the other major chakras in very sublime and profound ways. The Manipura Chakra at the navel center is the gateway to the lower two chakras and healing. The Anahata, heart, chakra is important because of its deep connection to Consciousness and our innate nature of joy. The Ajna Chakra at the Center of the mind is the Command Center and governs all the six major chakras in the body. By understanding these energy centers, you reach deeper into the well of yoga, enriching the practice you currently have in a profound and meaningful way.

Yoga: The Light in the Darkness

We are born with the capacity to have radiant bodies and luminous minds. During the dark times, personally or collectively, it can be easy to forget about one’s innate radiance. We might find ourselves getting lost in the shadow of our own negative thoughts, habits, and beliefs. Through the practice of yoga, we can reclaim our luminosity, and lead ourselves to unfailing peace and joy.

Discover practices that establish connection, uplift the spirit, and remind us that our inner and abiding radiance is stronger than any darkness we may be experiencing.
