The ancient practice of yoga nidra is a guided meditative inquiry into the states of being, and that which is beyond these states. Yoga Nidra pioneer, Swami Satyananda Saraswati, refers to it as “reaching the border between waking and sleeping states.”

In this class you will first be prepared for yoga nidra through gentle movement, an optional head massage, and breath awareness. While in a comfortable resting position, you will become aware of your breath as Sonia provides guided instruction through the yoga nidra process of deep relaxation through an exploration of body-mind, energy, and awareness and into that which is beyond all of these changing states of being. You will leave feeling more attuned to yourself and that which is beyond the self…

What to bring: Please dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, and water for hydration while lying in Savasana.

About the instructor: Sonia Weirich

Sonia Weirich


Sonia Weirich is a 500hr E-RYT yoga instructor and educator with 15-years of experience. Sonia is training in a 4-year yoga therapy program (through 2020), she participates in a renunciate study program with her non-dual Guru, and she also holds a black belt in Shotokan Karate.

These combined experiences provide the unique energy and perspective that Sonia brings to her classes and individual client sessions. Through the transformational art of applied yoga, Sonia helps students and clients deepen their awareness and broaden their perspective in body, emotion, mind, and spirit.
