45 minutes of gentle restorative poses & a long guided meditation (yoga nidra) in your final resting pose. No experience required.

Yoga nidra, also known as yogic sleep, is a state of consciousness between waking & sleeping.

It is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness.

The practice activates the parasympathetic nervous system allowing the body to rest & heal on a cellular level. It has been found to greatly reduce tension and anxiety, headaches, chest pain, palpitations, and abdominal pain. It is also used to help soldiers cope with & reduce symptoms related to post traumatic stress disorders. In this modern age, regardless of our occupation, we all face an excessive amount of stress. The practice of yoga nidra is an effortless & effective way to let go & enjoy a state of deep relaxation.

About the Teacher: Sarah Barrick

Sarah Barrick Yoga SeattleSarah began practicing yoga with a Rodney Yee DVD in her parent’s living room as a teenager, but her love affair with mindful movement of the body began with 10 years of training in classical ballet & modern dance.  Yoga became a way to move her body in an enjoyable & challenging way that took less of a toll than the movements of classical ballet.  Her practice deepened after moving to the Pacific Northwest in 2007 when she began fighting a long battle with the painful symptoms of endometriosis.  Yoga became a very powerful tool to relieve the stress, anxiety and depression that arise from living with chronic pain.  In 2015, she completed Spira Power Yoga’s 200-hour teacher training with Dora Gyarmati. She considers herself a lifelong student and is continuing her studies through Spira’s 500hr teacher training program modules and is currently focused on exploring & studying a wide range of meditation techniques.  She loves guiding Spira’s students through the softer restorative side of yoga.  Helping people relax is one of her greatest passions. Sarah is also a working artist, photographer & owner of Pause, Breathe, Blossom: Meditative Modern Art and Accessories. Her photographic mandala prints can be seen in the hallways at Spira.
