Yoga nidra yoga bliss workshop with Tracy Hodgeman
Dec 6, 2014 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm| $30 – $40
Join playful yoga teacher Tracy Hodgeman to learn specific and simple self care techniques to help to release pain and suffering from our bodies and minds.
Shiatsu utilizes the healing power of our own hands along with maps of the shiatsu pressure points to help increase the healthy flow of energy through our systems.
Healing medicinal plants have been our allies on this planet from the very beginning. Aromatherapy will help prepare us for our guided relaxation. We will anoint ourselves with soothing lavender or chamomile essential oils and finish with a restful hour of Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep.
Yoga Nidra is an ancient system of yogic relaxation that allows you to reconnect to your “deepest, most intimate and relaxed receptivity of intuitive spontaneous intelligence” according to Richard Miller, Ph.D. In our practice we will work with a positive affirmation that will help deepen and inspire your practice.
Bio:Tracy Hodgeman first experienced yoga with her mother back in the 70s, but her practice didn’t get serious until 1992. Her strongest influences are Iyengar Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga (as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois), although she appreciates all paths.
Tracy was a student and a teacher at the Ashtanga Yoga School in Seattle for over 10 years. In 1999 she made the pilgrimage to Mysore India to study with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and his grandson Sharath. Tracy has also had the privilege of studying w/many other inspiring Ashtanga teachers including Richard Freeman, David Swenson, Chuck Miller, Tim Miller, Beryl Bender Birch, and Lino Miele.
Tracy teaches with humor and compassion, creating a safe and noncompetitive environment in which students are encouraged and celebrated.
