About the instructor: Jaina Harris

Jaina Harris (1)

My yoga journey began in 2013 when a friend invited me to my first hot yoga class. I had never done yoga before and to be honest my first class did not go that well. It seemed like everyone else knew exactly what to do as the instructor repeatedly yelled “Aaand chaturanga.” while I flailed about. After my first couple of tries I figured yoga must not be for me. It wasn’t until I got a job at that same studio as the front desk manager that my fire for yoga was lit. I immersed myself in the different class types offered so that I would be knowledgeable when recommending classes to clients. I fell in love with the flowing, connective movements of Vinyasa yoga. I knew that one day I wanted to be a certified instructor so that I could inspire people to be the best they could be through the mental and physical challenges of yoga. I left the company in 2017 and not long after, I completed my teacher training at the Hot26 School of Yoga in Puyallup. My mentor, Emily Henderson, gave me all of the tools I needed to be a successful teacher. What’s more, I gained a deep connection with myself that I had not felt in a long time. Going through teacher training changed the way I viewed myself and the way I viewed the world. When I teach, I am my most authentic self. During my training, a mantra came to me. “I am enough”. My mission is to guide people in their journey towards seeing the light that is within them. Yoga is not about how flexible you are or how advanced your physical practice is. Yoga is about cultivating the relationship you have with yourself. I can attest to the healing powers of having a yoga practice. I plan to share this gift with the world.
