April 16| $2,500
Virtual Training – Seven Week Format (Friday Evenings, Saturday & Sunday Days)
Our Y6 Teacher Training Program is designed for anyone who wants to deepen their personal yoga practice as well as for those who aspire to share their passion as an instructor. Training with an accredited school like Y6 ensures you receive a well-rounded education that meets the hours criteria in 6 key categories as defined by Yoga Alliance. Most studios in the United States require teachers to hold a minimum of 200-hour certificate in order to teach. We are not looking to cut corners in our program. Instead, we are holding the highest integrity of education and commitment to ensure our students receive the top rate training they deserve. This includes working with educational designers who specialize in how adults learn, so that we might have the best possible impact in our students.

About the lead teachers: Valerie Lucas, Emilie Porter-Rand, and Zac Armstrong
A teacher’s teacher, Valerie’s classes and events are transformational. She has the ability to facilitate multi-dimensional experiences, helping her students connect to his/her own inner personal power. Valerie genuinely connects with and empowers each of her students, whether it is their first time on the mat or they have been practicing with her for years.
Her authentic teaching style blends functional alignment with dynamic flow, a dose of humor and plentiful opportunities for self-inquiry. With a strong focus on the breath and intelligent transitions, Valerie is an expert at holding space for her students in a way that allows for maximum growth on and off of the mat.
When Valerie was about 12 years old, her mother was working at UMass Medical School in Worcester, MA, alongside Jon Kabat-Zinn. Valerie would take the bus into the city and (to get to her mom’s office) would need to walk over and around bodies in a dark room where Jon was conducting his Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Clinic. This was her first introduction to meditation and mindfulness. Fast-forward almost 26 years, and Valerie has not only adopted these practices, but has made a life and career out of sharing its teachings.
Emilie Porter-Rand, E-RYT 500, discovered yoga on a date. “What I remember most about the first class I took was the graceful Gumby-spawn practicing next to me. I was stiff as a board, but I knew I had stumbled upon my passion.” Emilie approaches her life with a voracious appetite for learning and growth. A yogini with a well developed sense of humor, Emilie finds inspiration in laughter. She is an energetic and playful instructor whose classes challenge and nurture the body and spirit and encourage positive self-reflection. In 2009, Emilie received her 500 hour Yoga Teacher Certification with Sunstone Yoga. “Each posture is an opportunity to explore your truth. When someone is focused and aware, they connect to the divinity within. When I teach, I’m surrounded by the palpable energy generated by an entire room forging that connection. It’s awe inspiring. It’s humbling.”
