Catherine Munro began practicing yoga in 1989 while living in New York City. She spent several years exploring different yoga traditions with many master teachers, notably in the Iyengar style. Her exploration eventually led to her passion for the Ashtanga practice which she learned under the guidance of senior teachers Chuck Miller and Maty Ezraty. She has also studied with Ashtanga guri Sri. K Patthabhi Jois in Mysore, India.
Catherine is EYRT 500 hours and had been leading YogaWorks Teacher Training since 2002 nationally and internationally. Catherine’s teaching and training style focuses on physical alignment, intelligent sequencing and is infused with passion and inspiration for the practice. Catherine combines a tough-minded approach with genuine compassion and caring for the individual student. Her hope is that through the process of teacher training, students can learn to both practice yoga and transition through some of life’s challenges with strength and introspection.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”36861″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The seeds for Carlie’s passion for health were planted as a child growing up on a small farm in Fall City, Washington. No matter how many sports she tried, Carlie was never a natural athlete. She suffered from injury on the slopes, on the field, and in day to day activity. It was not until she found yoga that fitness became accessible. This was the key to unlocking a navigable path on her personal quest for balance in all parts of life.
She achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Bastyr University where she also discovered the wonder of physical medicine. In partnership with Bastyr she received her certification to practice massage from Brenneke School of Massage in 2005, and has continued to study different techniques ever since. Modalities she has studied and integrated into her practice include myofascial release, Thai massage, Lomi Lomi, pregnancy, therapeutic cupping, and manual ligament therapy. She began sharing her approaches to yoga for health and fitness in private and group settings in 2012.
Carlie specializes in myofascial release, Thai massage, Lomi Lomi, pregnancy, therapeutic cupping, and manual ligament therapy.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][ultimate_carousel slide_to_scroll=”single” slides_on_desk=”3″ autoplay_speed=”2000″ arrows=”off” dots=”off”][vc_single_image image=”36679″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”36678″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”36677″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][/ultimate_carousel][vc_column_text]

GET TO KNOW THE STUDIO
Body Reflects was founded by Carlie Bae, a yogi and wellness enthusiast, with a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and massage certification from Bastyr University where physical medicine is approached from a holistic perspective. While working with Chiropractors in Queen Anne, Carlie realized therapeutic massage would be more profound and long lasting if supplemented with therapeutic strength and mobility work. Yoga provides both of those and so much more to heal, cope and prevent everyday injuries. With a life long habit of yoga, immense study and dedication, the tools of this practice opened doors for Carlie. After her YogaWorks teacher training she was able to move a patient from the table to the mat and vice versa for faster more dramatic results. From this success Body Reflects was born.
Like-minded practitioners of yoga and massage as well as other health care professionals have joined Body Reflects to provide very approachable and appropriate yoga for most people in any stage of life. Clients often start seeking massage as a method of injury treatment or pain management but then move to using it for performance and quality of life enhancement.
