Every physical activity has tools that can help people increase strength or reach goals, and yoga is no different. Yoga props offer help for endurance or injury prevention, for example, and they’re often quite easy to use.
The most recognizable of yoga props is a yoga mat. Different types have different characteristics of thickness and texture, which are inherent in the material used to make the mat. Generally there are four types of materials for yoga mats—PVC, rubber, jute, and organic materials. Which one you pick depends on your practice and your preference. How do you figure it out?
