The bustling busy holidays are one of the most important times to maintain your fitness, but also one of the hardest. When creating the new holiday collection, the lucy design team kept performance and versatility top of mind, while adding unexpected party-time shine. And if there’s one piece that says holiday cheer, it’s a body-shaping onesie that covers while delivering supreme comfort. Read on to hear what Keryn Fransisco and her team focused on this season.
What was the design team’s inspiration this holiday season?
The changing of the seasons and the high-shine mood of the holidays. For added coziness, we’re bringing rich texture and dimension to our fabrics, like lofty quilting and unique jacquards. There’s a new level of glamor and shine—especially in our outerwear pieces—to beautifully take you from day to evening.
What are the standout colors?
Cobalt blue, green, purple, turquoise—all against black is our most dramatic moment. We wanted to capture luxe jewel tones, particularly in glossy fabrics, where light plays off it like the facets of a gemstone.
What are the leading prints? What are their origins?
We have a blurred, moody print called Northern Lights which evokes the night sky with elusive, brilliant colors peeking through.
Our Geode pattern has a bold, optic effect: we overlaid another geometric pattern with a sequin-inspired texture for an added layer of glam. The Icicle print, a glossy black-on-black print, emulates icicles trickling down the legs.
Explain one notably new fit.
We can’t pick just one! Our Studio Hatha Lounge Pant is brand new, and it’s the best of both worlds—relaxed comfort and moisture-wicking performance fabric. It’s our go-to for working out, then hanging out. Going beyond the tight-fitted legging and into slouchy chic silhouettes is a huge trend.
We are also in love with our Do Everything Cuffed Pant with a relaxed fit and elastic bottom hem. The fabric is super lightweight, breathable, with just enough stretch to move with you. It’s the most versatile pant. You can work out in them, lounge all day, then dress them up with heels for a night out.
Which fabric is the most inventive?
The modernized jacquard fabric in our Velocity Pullover top. It’s a super stretchy performance fabric that gives you maximum mobility, yet it has a soft, cozy inside. The puckers in the fabric create little air pockets against your skin, giving you the sensation of more insulation without the bulk!
