The creators of the Color Run brought Soul Pose to Seattle this September 10th, 2016. In 2015, they held a morning and evening outdoor yoga session on the green next to the Seattle Center International Fountain. Over 700 yogis came and practiced under the Space Needle.

This year, Soul Pose came back with four black light yoga sessions led by Michelle Thielen of Yoga Faith and Kevin Ng Yoga + Mindfulness. Over 1,500 yogis signed up for the events. Three of the four sessions were completely sold out within a few days. The classes were all levels and everyone received “yo-gifts” which consisted of a yoga mat, hand towel, bracelet and pastel confetti. Attendees signed up in teams and many others attended individually.

The morning line started early. People arrived an hour before the event start time to paint their bodies and prepare for the happiest yoga on the planet. Everyone wore their smiles as they prepared to glow under the black light. La Croix, Kind Bars and Yoga Panda App were at the event and provided refreshments and yoga resources pre and post the yoga gathering.

As the doors opened, the crowd gleefully entered and made their way to their desired Soul Pose mats. Soul Posers rolled out and began to write positive messages on their mats with highlighters. The black light lit up the room. Both yoga instructors led fun and invigorating flows. Throughout the practice people were glowing and smiling and there were moments to bond with old and new friends.

Nearing the end of the session, attendees took to their confetti and covered the sky in bright colored speckles. The energy generated was blissful and elating. Everyone gave out high fives and hugs. It ended on the intended note of being the “happiest yoga on the planet.”
