The Urban Yoga Spa studio, located at the heart of downtown Seattle on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Stewart Street, has a new owner: Andrew Hirsch.

Urban Yoga Spa was started back in 2009 by a married couple, Kathy and Gordy Ferguson, and it has grown since to become one of the busiest yoga studios in the city. The studio offers hatha yoga, power yoga and restorative yoga classes with over 40 yoga classes each week. In addition to regular yoga classes, the studio also hosts regular yoga workshops, yoga retreats and a yoga teacher training.

Urban Yoga Spa is not your standard yoga studio. It is a one-stop shop for a variety of mind and body services including massages, thai body work, acupuncture and reiki in addition to your typical spa services, which includes manicures, pedicures and waxing services.

Andrew Hirsch, who took over ownership of the studio in June 2015, aims to build on the solid base put in place by the former owners and both continue the strong tradition of yoga within Urban Yoga Spa but also nurture the strong sense of community within the studio.

We sat down with Andrew Hirsch to learn more about his background and his vision for Urban Yoga Spa, here is what he had to say:
