2022 Harmony Hill Retreat with Roy Holman & Liz Gross - Holman Health Connections
holman-health-connections-logo

About this Retreat: Harmony Hill Retreat Center is located near Union, Washington, in the Hood Canal area. Harmony Hill began with Gretchen Schodde’s dream to create a retreat center where people could experience renewal and deep well-being. In 1986, Harmony Hill opened its doors as a nonprofit retreat facility focusing on wellness. In 1994, they added our Cancer Program, the heart of their mission, to support those affected by cancer, including caregivers and health professionals. In 2004, they began offering our cancer-related programs at no charge. In 2020 Harmony Hill decided to make a fundamental shift to increase our commitment to inspire healthy living for all, recognizing that many of the programs and resources developed over the decades to support those on a cancer journey could equally benefit those who had other health and well-being concerns.

Harmony Hill has a lovely yoga space and will prepare our healthy, vegetarian meals. There are walks and hikes right from the property, and more expansive hikes less than an hour away in Olympic National Park. This will be our first retreat at Harmony Hill!

2022 Harmony Hill Retreat with Roy Holman & Liz Gross – Holman Health Connections2Whether you are a beginner or expert at yoga, meditation or hiking, you are welcome here. We teach to all levels, so experienced yogis and hikers will hopefully get what you need, but also those who are new to yoga, or cannot hike fast or far, will have a positive experience. Sometimes we split the hike into two groups, a stronger hike group and a more meditative group.

Mindfulness Retreat for Women_ Yoga & Meditation in Nature with Maria Bliss & Julia Briggs - Yogabliss
yogabliss mercer island-logo

About this Retreat: Retreat to Nature, Return to Your Body, Remember Yourself

This retreat is an invitation to step away from our daily routines and schedules, to slow down and reconnect with ourselves.

In retreat, we respond to the quiet voice that is calling us home to be with ourselves. Now more than ever, it feels important that we heed this call. Taking time to acknowledge the challenges and changes we have been through, this retreat offers us the space to reconnect with our bodies, our inner resilience, and our own hearts.

Surrounded by nature, we will use yoga, breath work, walking, and seated meditation to explore what it means to be mindful in everyday life. The invitation is to deepen our awareness, notice our mental tendencies and to offer heartfelt kindness to it all. Deep in the woods, nestled on the shores of Diablo Lake, we will take time to slow down and prioritize self-care. We will enjoy nourishing, locally sourced meals, have time in nature and retreat into our own hearts.

Our weekend together includes:
✓ Four yoga practices to include active sun salutations, gentle flow, yin, restorative & yoga nidra
✓ Mindful movement, breath work, and walking meditation (indoor & outdoor)
✓ Guided mindfulness meditations
✓ Optional guided hike, guided canoe excursion and evening campfire to enjoy community and outdoor time
✓ Five fresh, delicious meals showcasing the seasonal foods of the Skagit River Valley
✓ Time for relaxation, introspection and quiet (think reading, journaling or napping)

Our retreat begins at 3pm on Friday and concludes with a closing circle Sunday followed by lunch together.

Whether you are new to meditation or have an established practice, this is an opportunity to deepen your mindfulness practice, increase self-awareness & self-compassion and enjoy being in community.

We will look at what humility looks like, how to be sometimes be “weak” in order to be “strong”.

2022-Living-The-Spiral_-Shamanism-Yoga-Art-Womens-Retreat-at-Aldermarsh-on-Whidbey-Island
Pura-Vita-and-wellness

About this Retreat: The enemy of the ego is unconditional acceptance, a state of no judgment, of unconditional love for all that it is and all that is not. Wherever you are in the spiral of your life, if you still find ways to judge it as “less than perfect,” you are denying yourself permission to be exactly who you are as you are. In this ceremonial retreat we will use ancient practices such as movement, stillness, sweat lodges, breath work, storytelling, silence, oracle journeys and art. Together, in oneness, we will spiral from one moment to the next and create a crucible for embodied intention, healing and transformation.
This is a healing retreat crafted to allow you to dive deep within yourself while opening to work in community.
The schedule is rich and engaging. It does entail a certain amount of preparation.

Dates: May 27th-29th

Instructor: Cosetta Romani

2021 Meditation Yoga Hike with Roy Holman and Liz Gross - Holman Health Connections
holman-health-connections-logo

About this Retreat: “4 miles round trip, 500 feet gain.

Meditation Yoga Hike with Roy Holman & Liz Gross3.

Meadow Yoga: Join us for a bug-free hiking getaway at this beautiful meadow location on the Mountain Loop Highway, just 1.5 hours from Seattle. This is a beautiful time of year, and the bugs will still be asleep! We will invite some silence and walking meditations, do some gentle yoga in a gorgeous meadow, eat lunch in the forest, and get some nice fresh air.

Forest Bathing: We will play with the idea of “Forest Bathing”, This healing art in Japan is called Shinrin-yoku Forest Therapy, the medicine of simply being in the forest. Shinrin-yoku is a term that means “taking in the forest atmosphere” or “forest bathing.” It was developed in Japan during the 1980s and has become a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine.

Trail and Road conditions: This hike is not particularly long (4 miles round trip, 500 foot elevation gain), but there are two challenges. One, the trail is rough at times, with roots and rocks, so this will be part of our yoga balance practice! Secondly, we will drive about 10 miles on gravel road, but the road is in good condition, not many potholes. And the good news is that this hike gets very few people on it, unlike the hordes at Lake 22 and other easier access hikes.

Dates: June. 11th

Instructors: Roy Holman & Liz Gross

Cost: $45

JULY 2022

2021 Harmony Hill Retreat with Roy Holman & Liz Gross - Holman Health Connections
holman-health-connections-logo

About this Retreat:  “This year’s retreat will focus on finding and following our higher purpose, aligning with Divine Mind.

What else will we do

Besides daily yoga, we will do some hiking in beautiful, (hopefully bug-free) mountains and forests. We will do some breath and meditation playshops, as well as kirtan (call and response chant-song) to help us connect on all levels.

Kirtan (call and response singing or chanting) is an easy way to calm the mind and access higher energy vibrations.

From Peggy Black (channeling The Team): There have been many suggestions and methods offered as to how to access the higher dimensions. We will always recommend the use of sound vibrations. Sounds and sound vibration always alters consciousness. Breath and breathing techniques will allow you to travel consciously, just as meditation and many forms of yoga will support your shift.
