Get to know your local yoga musician! Daniella White will be teaching at Om Culture this March 25, 2016 as part of the center’s Spotlight on Yoga series. We have partnered with Om Culture to bring you an in depth introduction to the special teachers and performers who have been invited to teach the series.

Let’s meet Daniella!

#1 What inspired you to become a sound healer?

After many years of being a front woman in a rock band, I found myself drawn to the concept using sound for healing, particularly through the human voice.

#2 What is one piece of advice you always give your students?
Be open, be receptive, and have healthy boundaries as well.
#3 Describe your yoga philosophy?
Yoga is never a competition, I find it to be a great pathway to be more gentle with myself, while still finding my edge.
#4 If you could practice with anyone dead or alive, who would that be and why?
I’d love to sing with Jimi Hendrix. Or just be in a room with him while he played. He was an amazing channel.
#5 How lucky are you and why?
I feel very lucky to be surrounded by my fun and loving family, and friends whom I love deeply. I am also very thankful to have the opportunity to explore working with sound in the community, I find sound baths very liberating and exploratory. I am always pushing myself to expand and become more free, to become more of an open channel for healing energy and sound to move through.
#6 If you could be an animal or a plant, which one would you be and why?
An eagle. I would love to be able to fly.
#7 What is your latest favorite thing about humanity?
All the creative collaborations I see going on with music and art. I love seeing that co-creation!
#8 Anything else you’d like the local yoga community to know about you?

I am loving living in Seattle again after 6 years in LA. This place is magic!

Bio: Daniella is an Usui Reiki Master and certified Sound Healer practicing in Seattle. In 2004 she completed her five year reiki training and became a Reiki Master. She has studied the effects of sound on the brain and body, and in 2005 she completed a sound healing training course taught by renowned teacher and healer, Tom Kenyon. This work was deeply illuminating and allowed her to discover a unique way to combine reiki and sound therapy for healing purposes.

Daniella is available for private sound healing & reiki sessions as well past life regression work, and also offers group sound baths, where she uses vocal toning, crystal bowls, gongs, and Tibetan bowls to create vibrations that assist in releasing blockages and thus bringing healing to the body and mind.

She also makes avant garde headdresses and is a vocalist in the group Maxilla.

Don’t miss Daniella White’s Sound Bath Class at Om Culture on Friday 3/25/2016 doors open at 5:30 pm. Find out more on the Facebook event page and book your ticket online through Yoga Panda.
