Are you ready to take your RYT-200 Training to the next level and become a RYT-500?

These unique teacher trainings are given by one of the most experienced yoga teachers & teacher trainers in the northwest.

Richard Schachtel has been giving yoga teacher training classes since 1986 and has influenced many yoga teachers around the US and Abroad.

Richard has been a close student of BKS Iyengar (Light on Yoga) and Geeta S. Iyengar (Yoga: a Gem For Women) for over 30 years. His 20 yoga study trips to India have helped make him one of the most knowledgeable teachers of Iyengar Yoga in this area.

The Intensive Version of this training meets for 3 weeks in August of 2015 and for 3 weeks in August of 2016.

There is also a Weekend version of this Training meets on 12 three day weekends over a 20 month period with time to assimilate the material.

The course is open to anyone who is a graduate of an approved RYT-200 School.

Richard is the Founder & Director of The Center For Yoga of Seattle in Ravenna.

Iyengar Yoga is known for it’s exacting focus on alignment, its ability to make yoga accessible to a wide range of student populations(of ages, body types, physical conditions, injuries,and more), it’s development of whole body strength as well as flexibility, it’s wide range of practices from dynamic practice sessions, to restorative yoga, to yoga therapeutics,as well as for the high quality of its teachers.

Some of the areas of focus of the training will include:

  1. Developing a personal yoga practice
  2. Iyengar Yoga Teaching Methodology: The Arts of Demonstration, Instruction, Observation and Correction
  3. Sequencing practices, classes and courses
  4. Learning how to deal with common problems in the yoga class: helping those with back, knee, neck,& shoulder problems, hamstring injuries, and more
  5. Anatomy for Yoga
  6. *This Course has a strong focus on the Philosophy of Yoga, its History and Development and its origins
  7. Ethics of teaching Yoga
  8. Yoga for Women
  9. Restorative Yoga
  10. Pranayama

Richard is The Seattle Area’s Only Authorized Iyengar Yoga Teacher Trainer.

Graduates will not be certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers which entails passing the Iyengar Yoga Certification process.

The training is excellent preparation and training for those interested in working toward obtaining eventual certification in Iyengar Yoga.

You do not have to be an advanced practitioner to be in this training. Students can enroll in order to deepen their personal yoga practice and to learn more in-depth about this life changing practice.

The Fee for the training is $4.500 and space in limited. There is a substantial early registration discount making the fee $3,000 for those who register soon! A payment plan is also available.
