In May of 2020, join two of the Seattle’s top yoga instructors, Tina Templeman and Ashish Arora, on Global Family Travels’ Discover India 8 Limbs of Yoga Retreat with HEART.

During our February 23 information sessionGlobal Family Travels’ Founder, Jennifer Spatz, will review our 12- day itinerary to India, including time in magical Ladakh and Rishikesh. She will share the highlights of our trip, which include learning spiritual practices from Buddhist monks, Nuns and Hindu Gurus and yogis, immersing in an Ashram in Rishikesh and deeply connecting to the Ladakhi Buddhist culture and nature. Tina and Ashish will give an overview about ashtanga/8-Limbs of Yoga and its path to self-awareness and purpose, which they will incorporate into yoga practices each day as we travel to the birthplace of yoga!

More about our Yoga Retreat: India is the epicenter of many of the world’s religions: Jainism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism all call India their birthplace. The intermingling of the country’s diverse cultures and religions formulates its unique and charming soul. In this land of diversity, Tina and Ashish will guide you through the Yoga Sutra’s eightfold path, called ashtanga, (eight limbs), that helps us acknowledge the spiritual aspects of our nature, as we take you on a journey to India’s holy places, featuring beautiful temples, monasteries, ashrams and historical monuments and making deep connections to the peoples in the different communities we engage with.

As we awaken and nurture our inner divinity, we will also expand our global family through service opportunities with several non-profit partners we support in Ladakh, Rishikesh, and Dehradun, focusing on quality education, preserving culture and women’s empowerment.

About Jennifer Spatz

Jennifer SpatzJennifer Spatz is Founder and CEO of Global Family Travels  & Co-founder of Impact Travel Alliance for Greater Seattle.
Jennifer created  Global Family Travels (GFT) with the mission to Learn, Serve and Immerse, using travel as a means to build cultural bridges and to foster global citizens. Growing up in several countries, Jennifer experienced the bonding power of travel with her family, and by authentically connected with the locals, learned that despite our differences, we are all the same in our hearts and minds. The experiences inspired her to offer community-based travel experiences, and partner with local non-profit organizations to create service-learning tours for families.

It was Global Family Travels’ first official trip in 2010 to the stunningly beautiful region of North India called Ladakh that transformed Jennifer’s life. The journey entailed a village clean-up with students from the Siddhartha School, founded by Khensur Rinpoche, an educator and Buddhist monk and a lifelong friend of the Dalai Lama. At the end of this trip, Jennifer knew she had found her calling and the Universe supported it, allowing her to use her Sacred Gifts to develop transformational travel experiences filled with immersive activities.
Today, Jennifer is passionate about creating educational & transformational travel programs in support of many United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including education, access to clean water, conservation, gender equality, and preservation of local cultures.
