About the instructors: Alexis Franklin and Meghan Smith

Alexis Franklin

Alexis began practicing yoga while attending Western Washington University in 2006. Practicing on and off through the years, it was not until recovering from an ankle injury in 2012 that Alexis rediscovered her love of yoga. Unable to continue high-impact cross-training after the injury, Alexis began to focus on her yoga practice. She enjoyed not only the strength and weight-loss benefits, but the stress reduction and mind-calming benefits resulting from a regular practice.

In 2013, Alexis received her 200 RYT through Marianne Wells Yoga School in Costa Rica. Alexis enjoys sharing the gift of yoga with her students in a positive, non-competitive, and nonjudgmental atmosphere. Her upbeat classes are taught using a vinyasa style and will challenge you to build strength, endurance, flexibility and balance, while focusing on alignment, breath and quieting the mind.

Meghan Smith

I became a yoga teacher and psychotherapist because I have been there. I have sought growth and transformation from a holistic perspective; one that addresses my mind, body and spirit. I believe that in order for true healing to occur, the whole person must be involved and therefore I approach therapy from a yogic perspective, and yoga from a therapeutic perspective. In my work, I combine the latest in talk therapy and neuroscience with the ancient wisdom of yoga to encourage well-being, vitality and wholeness.

A session with me in my Seattle office may include mindfulness and meditation, deep breathing, yoga and traditional talk therapy. I will tailor a session to suit your unique needs. If you are ready to feel better but are unsure where to start, please contact me.
