Loading Events

We will focus on many of the most beneficial restorative poses. These are well supported back arches lying on or off of a yoga bolster(or 2-3 firm blankets). The practice is relaxing, inward, calming, and soothing.

Restorative poses can trigger deep relaxation.

This session is particularly helpful for those who have had a stressful holiday season or for those who took the earlier workshop on January 2 from 10am-1pm and want to experience some deep relaxation.

Date & Time: Saturday, Jan. 2nd, 2020 @4pm-6pm

Fee: $40; $30 for those who register by 12/27/20. The Workshop is also a fundraiser for The Center where you can help to support The Center. Options range from in addition to admission to the workshop, $100-$10,000 gifts.

You will need the following props to benefit from the workshop:
1 Non Skid Yoga Mat
4-6 Firm Blankets For Yoga
1 Yoga Bolster or 3 blankets which can be made into a bolster shape
1-2 Yoga Blocks
1 Chair: Metal, plastic, or wood. Backless Yoga Chair is best

About the instructor: Richard Schachtel

Richard SchachtelRichard Schachtel has been training in Iyengar Yoga for over 40 years. He founded The Center For Yoga in 1980 and is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and an authorized Iyengar Yoga Teacher Trainer. He has made 22 yoga study trips to India to personally train with the Iyengar Family most recently in December 2016. Richard is the Seattle Area’s most Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher. Richard has been training teachers in Seattle since 1986 and has influenced several generations of yoga teachers. There are over 100 recent graduates of this program which is offered also on the weekends, and in 4 week immersions. Richard has taught yoga workshops throughout the USA, at several Iyenger Yoga National Conventions, in Australia and India, and taught this spring in China.
