Description:Have you ever been to a massage therapist, chiropractor, or other body worker and walked away feeling more aligned, relaxed, and open? It would be wonderful to have this type of work done every day, but for most of us it is not practical or cost effective. In this workshop we will use a self-care tool called The SoulMat to get in touch with your own body – in particular the spine and the rhythm of the breath. It is a sensory experience that strays from the physical realm to the psychological and emotional.
A typical person can go to a yoga class or meditation class and achieve a state of serenity at some point by the end of the class. The interesting thing with a workshop using The SoulMat is that this happens very near the beginning of the class – literally in a matter of minutes. The rest of the class is spent working in that “zone” rather than just trying to get there.

Teacher:Chiara Guerrieri

Bio:Chiara Guerrieri began studying Yoga in 1983 to rehabilitate and strengthen her core after a car accident; she continues to practice and teach as a way to heal the separation between body and mind.
Chiara teaches us to focus on the core, on the deepest musculature of the body’s center. A stabilized core better supports the outer layers and limbs of the body. By developing the core, students connect to a deeper place within themselves; strength and grace are the result. She has a strong interest in injury evaluation and treatment, and welcomes students recovering from injury or other physical pain. Chiara adapts movement so that all students can participate and develop the support their bodies need to recover. She has studied Hypnosis and Neuro Linguistic Programming; she uses her language skills to weave trances that wake us from our routines, allowing us to explore new pathways. Her instruction is lively, accessible, encouraging and compassionate, dedicated to working with each student to create a safe, strong practice.
Chiara is a licensed massage therapist, teaches Anatomy for Yoga Teacher Trainings, and is 200ERYT and 500RYT certified as a yoga instructor with Ana Forrest and Shari Friedrichsen. Her love of yoga nourishes her passion for dancing Argentine tango. Cultivating balance, awareness of center, stillness within movement while connecting with That which is greater than us expands when dancing together.
